South Korea will provide US$500,000 worth of humanitarian aid to Laos following devastating floods from a powerful typhoon that left more than 300 people dead, the foreign ministry said Wednesday. The government hopes the aid will help the Southeast Asian country with recovery efforts and its people to quickly return to their daily lives, the ministry said. Typhoon Yagi struck Laos earlier this month, causing floods and landslides that have killed over 380 people, and displaced at least 176,000 in the northern and central regions.
