Trang, Farmers in Trang Province have developed a good variety of limes, 'Sri Thong Dam', with soft, non-bitter skin, lots of juice, and a mild sourness. Customers book them all year round and sell them at a fixed price of 50 baht per kilogram. At the lemon orchard of Mr. Prasit Chit Suwan, a 67-year-old lemon farmer in Village No. 8, Na Chum Het Subdistrict, Yan Ta Khao District, Trang Province, he grows lemons on an area of ??10 rai. It is a new variety of lemon that has been improved by further developing from various lemon varieties and crossbreeding them until he got lemons that bloom and bear fruit all year round. Plus, there are a lot of them. Each cluster has as many as 5-12 lemons. The skin is soft, not bitter, has a lot of juice, and is just the right amount of sour, different from ordinary lemons. Phi Prasit named this new variety of limes Sri Thong Dam limes. He has been growing and selling them for 8 years now. Each year, he can harvest about 5-7 tons of limes, which are sold at the same price all year round. Even during the dry season, limes are in short supply and prices soar to over 100 baht, but at the orchard, they are sold for only 50 baht per kilogram. Importantly, this orchard has received the GAP standard mark, meaning that limes are safe from chemicals. Most of his customers are restaurants and beverage shops, as well as new customers who want to order limes and cuttings all year round. Currently, the garden is open as a learning center for growing organic lemons, allowing those interested in learning to study and tour the garden.
