Sunny Weather Forecast for Most of Taiwan, Highs of 36°C Possible

Taipei: Most of Taiwan will experience partly cloudy to sunny skies on Tuesday, with temperatures potentially rising to 36 degrees Celsius in the southern regions. This heat is expected to subside on Wednesday, as reported by the Central Weather Administration (CWA). According to Focus Taiwan, a "yellow" heat advisory was issued on Tuesday morning for Tainan and Kaohsiung cities, as well as Pingtung and Taitung counties. The advisory warns of temperatures potentially reaching 36 degrees due to the influence of southwesterly winds. However, a cooling trend is anticipated in the northern and northeastern regions of Taiwan by Wednesday, with a weather front bringing northeasterly winds, causing temperatures to drop to lows of 20-22 degrees Celsius. Independent meteorologist Wu Der-rong noted that while most of Taiwan will remain sunny and hot on Tuesday, a passing front in the afternoon could result in brief, localized showers in the north and northeast. By Wednesday, rain is expected to affect areas north of Chiayi throughout the day and into the evening, potentially bringing localized showers or thunderstorms with heavier downpours. Wu also predicted a noticeable drop in temperatures in northern Taiwan. However, the weather is expected to revert to summer-like conditions on Thursday and Friday, with only brief, localized showers anticipated in northwestern Taiwan on Friday morning. Another weather front is set to move through Taiwan from north to south on Saturday, potentially bringing showers or thunderstorms, along with the risk of lightning, strong winds, and heavy rain. From Sunday to Monday, temperatures are expected to gradually rise, though wet weather may persist.
