Taiwan won a second gold medal at the World Championship of Tug of War in Holten in the Netherlands on Sunday when its women’s under-23 500-kilogram team defeated the United Kingdom 3-0.
The gold medal was the second won by the country, competing under the name Chinese Taipei, in the championship category of the World Championship of Tug of War.
Early Sunday, Taiwan won its first gold medal in the women’s 500-kilogram class and a bronze in the under-23 560-kg mixed class.
Meanwhile, the men’s U-18 national team secured a silver in the 560-kg class in the championship category on Saturday.
A team from Taiwan is set to compete in the women’s 540 kg category late Sunday and is favored to win a medal.
Taiwan earlier won one gold, four silvers and a bronze in the tournament’s club matches.
Tug of war Holten 2022 started on Wednesday with the weighing in of the teams. Tournament club matches were held from Thursday to Friday and followed by championship category matches on Saturday and Sunday, according to the organizers.
