Taiwan condemns deadly terror attack in Kabul: Presidential Office

Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen (???) on Friday condemned the terrorist attack at Kabul airport in Afghanistan that killed scores of Afghan civilians as they tried to flee the country after the recent Taliban takeover.

The Thursday attack which consisted of two suicide bombings near the airport also left 13 American service members dead.

Tsai strongly condemned the attack, conveyed her condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, Presidential Office spokesman Xavier Chang (???) said in a statement.

At the direction of President Tsai, Chang said Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (???) has also informed the head of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Sandra Oudkirk that Taiwan will stand by the United States during these trying times.

Taiwan will continue to work with the U.S. and other like-minded countries in seeking to contribute to regional peace, stability, prosperity and development, the spokesman said.
