Taipei: The Taiwanese Navy reported a collision between one of its vessels and a Chinese fishing boat early Thursday in waters off central Taiwan, with no injuries reported. According to Focus Taiwan, the incident involved the Chung Ho-class tank landing ship, hull number LST-232, and the Chinese-registered "Min Lien Yu 61756." The collision occurred at 12:38 a.m. approximately 45 nautical miles off the Port of Taichung, as stated by Taiwan's Naval Fleet Command. The Taiwanese vessel sustained damage, which was not specified, but it did not affect its navigational safety, the Navy confirmed. Fortunately, there were no injuries on either of the two boats involved in the accident. Following the Navy's request, Taiwan's Coast Guard Administration (CGA) dispatched two patrol vessels to the site to manage the situation and gather evidence for a pending investigation, as outlined in the statement.
