Taipei: Taiwanese actor Wang Kai, renowned for his role in the Sanlih E-Television Co., Ltd. (SET) drama series "Bittersweet Destiny," has died at the age of 43. Authorities reported receiving a notification about a death in Taipei's Da'an District on Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival, they discovered Wang, whose real name was Wang Chien-lung, unresponsive on the floor of a rooftop addition, showing no vital signs.
According to Focus Taiwan, initial investigations revealed no signs of external injuries or forced entry, leaving the cause of death undetermined at this time. In a statement, SET disclosed that Wang had completed filming at approximately 5 p.m. on Saturday before departing from the set of "Bittersweet Destiny." The company learned of his death from his agent on Sunday, prior to the day's scheduled filming.
The production team has extended its condolences, expressing gratitude for Wang's contributions to the series, and has committed to assisting his family with funeral arrangements. Wang first appeared on television in the 2001 SET drama "Lavender."
