Taiwan’s top two airlines receive APEX awards in Singapore

State-run China Airlines and privately owned EVA Air accepted the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Official Airline Ratings Award on Thursday after being named “five-star global airlines” on Oct. 27, with EVA also winning regional and global Passenger Choice Awards.

The APEX/IFSA Award Ceremony was held on Wednesday and Thursday in Singapore to honor airlines that won the APEX Passenger Choice Awards and the Official Airline Ratings Awards.

Other five-star global airlines to win the Official Airline Ratings Award included Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, United Airlines, Emirates, and Lufthansa German Airlines.

Meanwhile, the Passenger Choice Awards recognize excellence in seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment and Wi-Fi based on anonymous passenger feedback gathered via an app, it said.

EVA Air, which was was voted as having the “best cabin service” and the “best overall airline” in East Asia, thanked its customers for their continued support while vowing to continue innovating its services.

EVA cited the contactless services it rolled out amid global COVID-19 outbreaks, including in-town check-in, excess baggage prepayment, and self-service baggage drop, as examples of the evolving services it offers passengers.
