TSMC Announces Ambitious Plan to Hire 8,000 Workers in 2026

Taipei: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) revealed plans to recruit 8,000 additional employees this year to support its expansion goals, offering an average annual salary of NT$2.2 million (US$69,449) for new engineers with a master's degree. The world's leading contract chipmaker has initiated a recruitment campaign across Taiwan, featuring a job fair at National Taiwan University (NTU) on Saturday. According to Focus Taiwan, TSMC's new hires, consisting of engineers and technical staff, will be deployed across its facilities in Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Taichung, Chiayi, Tainan, and Kaohsiung. The company is seeking professionals in various fields including electrical engineering, electronics, optoelectronics, physics, materials, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial engineering, engineering management, business management, human resources, and accounting. TSMC also expressed a need for talent in emerging technologies due to its focus on digital tr ansformation and AI and big data applications. Following the NTU job fair, TSMC plans to conduct similar events at other universities throughout Taiwan, along with five additional online recruitment events. Moreover, TSMC is launching an internship program for the upcoming summer vacation, accepting applications from university students in their third year or higher until May 8. Priority will be given to students enrolled in master's and Ph.D. programs.
