South Korean low-cost carrier T'way Air Co. said Thursday it has signed a deal with global aircraft leasing firm Avolon Holdings Ltd. to introduce A330-900 Neo aircraft units manufactured by Airbus. The agreement calls for Avolon to lease five A330-900 Neo units to T'way Air sequentially starting in 2026. The two sides are also in talks for the provision of five additional units. T'way Air said it plans to deploy the models on its long-haul routes to Europe and North American destinations. The Airbus A330-900 Neo is considered an eco-friendly aircraft with a longer range and improved fuel efficiency compared with the previous A330 CEO series. "With the introduction of the fuel-efficient and sustainable A330-900 Neo, we will provide enhanced services and stability," T'way Air CEO Jeong Hong-geun said. Source: Yonhap News Agency
