Taipei: Two bodies were found Saturday inside a corrugated metal factory that caught fire in Taipei's Nangang District in the early hours of the morning, police said. The discovery has prompted an investigation into the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this time. According to Focus Taiwan, the victims were believed to be a couple in their 60s who resided on the second floor of the factory building. Reports suggest that the couple made a call for help when the fire started, but contact was lost shortly thereafter. The fire was reported at around 2 a.m., prompting a large-scale emergency response. A total of 39 fire engines, four ambulances, a firefighting robot, a drone, and 112 firefighters were deployed to the scene located in an alley on Yanjiuyuan Road, Section 4. The fire was brought under control by approximately 4 a.m., at which point the bodies were discovered on the second floor of the building.
