U.S. Senator Michael Bennet Visits Taiwan to Discuss Key Issues

Taipei:United States Senator Michael Bennet is currently in Taiwan to meet with senior officials and discuss matters concerning U.S.-Taiwan relations, as announced by the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT).

According to Focus Taiwan, Senator Bennet's visit, which spans from Tuesday to Thursday, involves a series of high-level meetings with Taiwanese leaders. The agenda includes discussions on regional security and other topics of mutual interest, although specific officials he will meet were not disclosed.

Senator Bennet, who has represented Colorado since 2009, recently lost a Democratic Party primary for Colorado governor. His term in the Senate continues until 2028. As a member of several Senate committees, including Intelligence, Finance, Agriculture, and Rules, Bennet has been active in legislative efforts to boost U.S.-Indo-Pacific intelligence cooperation and the U.S.-Taiwan space partnership.

The visit to Taipei is part of Bennet's broader tour of the Indo-Pacific region. The trip highlights the U.S. commitment to its partnership with Taiwan and reaffirms a shared dedication to maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
