Taipei: Representatives from the United States, the United Kingdom, and France inaugurated their respective national pavilions at SEMICON Taiwan 2026, marking their presence among the record 18 national pavilions at this year's event.
According to Focus Taiwan, Raymond Greene, director of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), emphasized the robust U.S.-Taiwan semiconductor collaboration during the U.S. Pavilion's opening ceremony. Greene highlighted the comprehensive cooperation spanning research, chip design, materials, equipment, manufacturing, and more. He acknowledged the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing this partnership, noting its significance for shared prosperity, resilience, and technological leadership.
At the France Pavilion, Fr©d©ric Laplanche, the new director of the French Office in Taipei, underscored the pavilion's record participation of 10 entities, reflecting the strong growth and commitment of the French industry to its relationship with Taiwan. Taiwan's Deputy Foreign Minister Fran§ois Wu, present at the event, remarked on Taiwan's semiconductor industry strength, emphasizing trust and Taiwan's reputation as a reliable partner in technology.
Ruth Bradley-Jones, the United Kingdom's representative to Taiwan, celebrated the U.K.'s fourth consecutive appearance at SEMICON Taiwan during the U.K. Pavilion opening. She highlighted the delegation as the largest and most impressive group of U.K. companies, showcasing expertise in photonics, compound materials, advanced packaging, quantum technologies, and more. Andy McLean, CEO of the UK Semiconductor Center, also attended the opening.
For the first time, Sweden and Finland are participating with a joint pavilion, featuring 12 companies from both countries, adding to the diversity and international collaboration at the event.
