Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), mentioned about the flood situation in many areas in Chiang Rai Province that in the critical water situation in Chiang Rai Province, initially, the work site of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, we still cannot go to the area in a timely manner because the mission of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, we do not have the equipment or tools to help the villagers in a critical situation. However, he asked that if there is an opportunity, follow the provincial team and related agencies to provide assistance to survey which vulnerable groups the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security needs to help, such as children, the elderly, and the disabled, are in which village, which house number, which sub-district, and which district in Chiang Rai Province, so that when the water recedes, we will be able to go and provide assistance immediately without having to wait. Mr. Warawut said that at the same time, he has prepared relief bags to be distributed or even boxed meals and has prepared social workers, psychologists, and multidisciplinary teams so that after the water recedes, they can arrive promptly. Therefore, he asked for a survey during this critical period. In addition, in the long term, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security must prepare to look at occupational rehabilitation, work to generate income, including approving occupational funds for vulnerable groups, and repairing their homes. In the past, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has provided support in affected provinces such as Phayao, Nan, Sukhothai, and Chiang Rai. Mr. Varawut added that at this time, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security would like to give encouragement to all officers from all agencies, all parties, both security, government and private sectors, and many foundations that rushed to help at the scene urgently.
