Yoon hosts dinner meeting with new ruling party leadership

President Yoon Suk Yeol hosted a dinner meeting with Han Dong-hoon, the newly elected ruling party leader, Wednesday, a day after Han's sweeping victory in the party leadership election. The dinner, held in the garden in front of the presidential office, was also attended by the five newly elected Supreme Council members of the ruling People Power Party (PPP), the party's floor leader and policy chief, as well as the candidates who ran for party leader. During the meeting, Yoon reportedly called for improved communication and cooperation between the government and the party, as well as unity within the party. On Tuesday, Han was elected as the new PPP head with a whopping 62.8 percent of the vote, beating former Land Minister Won Hee-ryong and five-term lawmakers Rep. Na Kyung-won and Rep. Yoon Sang-hyun.
