Japan and Taiwan lauded their friendship on Friday, the 11th anniversary of the devastating Great East Japan Earthquake, also called the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, with top officials sharing their appreciation of mutual assistance between the two countries.
Hiroyasu Izumi, chief-representative of the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, said on Facebook that every year on March 11, Taiwan's help is remembered when events are held for the areas impacted by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
