Vancouver: Visitors to the annual Vancouver Outdoor Adventure Show this weekend were attracted to the Taiwan booth, which largely featured cycling, according to tourism officials.
According to Focus Taiwan, the Taiwan booth prominently displayed a large map of the country, highlighting its numerous cycling paths along scenic routes. This drew significant interest from outdoor enthusiasts, including mountain bikers and birdwatchers. Sylvia Lee, the Tourism Administration's top representative to San Francisco, explained that the map was centered around Taiwan Cycling Route No.1. By showcasing bicycle-friendly locations across Taiwan, the booth received many inquiries about cycling around the island.
The exhibition, held over the weekend, also saw birdwatchers expressing interest due to the upcoming "1st World Bird Fair" by the World Birdfairs Council, scheduled to take place in Taichung, central Taiwan, from September 19-23. Esther Lin of Signet Tours, a Taiwanese American-founded international tour company, noted that Taiwan's rich environment and diverse geography make it appealing for Canadians who enjoy exploring natural scenic locations.
