A power outage struck Taipei on Friday, leaving 3,148 residences and stores without electricity.
The blackout occurred at 3:51 p.m. in the city's Wanhua District, cutting power to buildings on Heping West Road, Section 3; Xiyuan Road, Section 1; and Juguang Road.
The state-run Taiwan Power Co. (Taipower) said the power outage was caused by the feeder lines tripping.
As of 4 p.m., power had been restored to 2,352, or 74 percent, of the 3,148 homes and stores that had been affected, and electricians were working to restore electricity to the other buildings, Taipower said.
